These general terms and conditions of sale are intended for the booking of a room in the guest house or of a holiday rental at “Maison Loire,” 41000 Blois, France. These constitute the reservation contract between the owner, Nicolas Vasseur, and the Client for a stay in a guest room or the holiday rental.
These general terms and conditions of sale may be modified at any time without notice. Acceptance of and compliance with these general terms and conditions of sale shall be deemed to have been acquired upon sale.
Purpose of the Contract
Our guest rooms and holiday rentals are in accordance with the provisions of articles D. 324-13 and D. 324-14 of the Tourism Code.
The present terms and conditions define the rights and obligations of all parties in the context of the reservation of services offered by Maison Loire, its Site, and its Mobile Services.
They govern all the steps necessary for the reservation and follow-up between the contracting parties.
Any reservation implies that the Client fully accepts these terms and conditions.
Every Client acknowledges having the capacity to contract, i.e. having legal authority and not being under guardianship or tutelage.
The current version of the general terms and conditions agreed to by the Client is in force at the time of reservation.The holiday rentals referred to on the site are not intended for premises rented as a main residence or for mixed professional and main residence use.
Duration of the Stay
The Client who signs this contract, agreed for a fixed period, will not under any circumstances be able to avail of any right to remain on the premises. The owner can accept the extension of the stay for a fee if the room is free after the planned stay.
Reservation
Reservations can be made on www.maisonloire.com, by phone at +33 6 34 86 69 29, by e-mail at contact@maisonloire.com or through our partners.
In order to make a reservation, the Client must select a guest room or holiday rental. The availability and descriptions of the guest rooms and holiday rentals are indicated on the website.
The Client must complete all the fields on the reservation form.
The Client undertakes to check immediately whether the booking confirmation received is correct and to report any errors to the owner. Errors must be reported within 48 hours.
The Client must accept the general terms and conditions of sale of the owner in order to validate the reservation.
The general terms and conditions of sale are available at the time of the validation of the reservation.
The payment of all additional services will be made directly to the establishment (except for services prepaid at the time of booking).
Maison Loire reserves the right to refuse any reservation if the credit card number is incorrect or the reservation incomplete.
All reservations, regardless of the source, are payable in Euros only.
Maison Loire accepts a wide variety of credit and debit cards including American Express, China UnionPay (CUP), Discover & Diners, Japan Credit Bureau (JCB), Mastercard, and Visa, and has a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) reservation system that protects and encrypts all sensitive data transmitted at the time of booking to prevent disclosure to third parties.
To be valid, all reservations must be paid in full.
Whether the reservation is made through our online reservation system with secure payment at www.maisonloire.com , by phone or by e-mail, or through our partners, the amount of the stay will be debited from the Client’s credit card in full at the time of booking.
Personal Data
All data collected (i.e, last name, first name, postal address, telephone number, e-mailm etc.) are necessary to finalize and execute the contract and will be used mainly to properly manage relations with the Client and to process orders.
They will be kept as long as necessary for the execution of services and in respect of legal obligations.
The Client has the right of access, rectification, deletion, and portability of personal data, as well as the right to oppose the processing for legitimate reasons, rights that he or she can exercise by contacting the postal or email address mentioned below, enclosing a valid proof of identity:

The right of erasure and rectification does not apply when processing is based on a legal obligation or on the execution of the contract.
In case of complaint, the Client can contact the National Commission of Data processing and Freedoms (CNIL).
Absence of Retraction
Reservations made by mail, telephone or internet, cannot be retracted, in accordance with Article L121-21-8 of the Consumer Code relating to the provision of accommodation services provided on a specific date or according to a specific period.
Prices
Prices are displayed on the website and at the entrance of Maison Loire.
Prices are inclusive of all charges (including VAT and tourist tax) and only include services expressly mentioned in the reservation. For guest rooms, breakfast is included in the price. No meal is included in the price of holiday rentals.
The price of a guest room is the same for one or two persons. For the holiday rental, the price varies according to the number of guests.
Prices are indicated in Euros.
Supplementary services provided by the establishment during the stay will be added to the reservation price at the time of the invoicing.
Valid prices are those in effect on the day of the reservation. Independent professional establishments are free to change their prices at any time. Only the price indicated in the reservation confirmation is contractual.
Method of payment
Payment of reservations is made securely via credit cards directly at www.maisonloire.com . Clients who wish to make a secure payment for reservations by credit card after arrival on the premises or by another means of payment (e.g. bank transfer, cash) must inform the reservation manager directly by phone or by email at contact@maisonloire.com. In this case, no reservation will be valid until the agreed payment is received.
Consumption charges and supplementary services will be payable to the owner or manager at the end of the stay.
Cancellation by the Client
Except in case of a reservation made via our partners, where the conditions of cancellation are clearly outlined, any cancellation of the reservation must be requested in writing directly to Maison Loire. A cancellation request will only be effective when Maison Loire has confirmed its agreement in writing.
If the cancellation occurs more than 10 days before the arrival date, the amount paid at the time of the reservation will be refunded.
If the cancellation occurs within 10 days before the arrival date, or in case of no-show, the amount paid at the time of the reservation will be retained without the Client being able to reschedule the stay for a later date.
If the Client does not respect the listed arrival times (see section ‘Arrival time’), the owners reserve the right to refuse entry onto the premises. In this case, payment of the reservation is retained by the owners.
In case of shortened stay, the price of the original reservation is retained by the owners.
If the Client does not check in within 24 hours after the arrival date indicated on the contract, the present contract becomes null and void and the owner can make use of the reserved accommodation while retaining the total cost of the reservation.
Cancellation by the Owner
When the owners cancel the stay before it starts, they must inform the Client as soon as possible by phone or email. The Client will be reimbursed the total amount paid for the reservation as quickly as possible. The owner assumes responsibility for helping the Client find accommodation elsewhere.
In case of cancellation due to force majeure (natural disaster, health disaster, prohibition to rent by prefectural decree or legislation, damage by the previous occupants, disaster preventing rental of the accommodation under normal conditions, or incapacity or serious illness of the owner …), no assistance can be provided.
Arrival Time
The Client must arrive on the reserved day and within the specified check-in window.
The guest rooms and holiday rentals are available for check-in from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. For Clients’ comfort and peace of mind, it is advisable to provide the owners an estimated time of arrival.
In case of delayed arrival, Clients must inform the owners by phone at +33 6 34 86 69 29 to organize the check-in.
Requests for early check-in should be made in writing or by phone in advance and will be confirmed by the owners the night before the arrival date. If requests for early check-in cannot be accommodated, Clients have the option of an early arrival with luggage storage until the reserved room is ready.
Departure Time
The guest rooms and holiday rentals must be vacated by 11:00 am. A later departure is possible upon agreement with the owner.
Breakfast for the Guest Rooms
Breakfast is served from 8:30 am to 11:00 am in the dining room or on the terrace depending on the season and the weather. As a reminder, breakfast is not offered for holiday rentals.
Change of Guest Rooms
The owner reserves the right to change the room initially booked by the Client to a room of the same or higher capacity. In such a case, the cost of the reservation remains unchanged and the Client will not receive any compensation.
Housekeeping
Housekeeping services are possible in the rooms upon request. Out of respect for Clients’ privacy, daily housekeeping services are not executed as a matter of policy.
Towels and sheets are changed upon request.
These services do not apply to holiday rentals.
Capacity and Access
Two people maximum per guest room. Four people maximum in the holiday rental, “La Maisonette.” Ten people maximum for the holiday rental, “La Maison,”
Reservations are made for a specified number of guests. The owner reserves the right to refuse additional guests not included in the original reservation. This refusal can in no way be considered as a modification or a breach of contract by the owner.
Upon arrival, Clients will be provided 2 sets of keys. Keys of the accommodation must be returned to a Maison Loire employee at checkout. Any failure to return keys will result in additional charges to the Client amounting to 25 € TTC per key. This amount will be added to the bill at the time of check-out.
Furthermore, Maison Loire premises (staircase accessing the upper floors, guest rooms located on the upper floors, bedroom of the holiday rental on the upper floor) unfortunately does not allow for accessibility to Persons with Reduced Mobility.
General Rules
The Client agrees :
- Not to substitute himself for any person whatsoever, nor to sublet, in whole or in part, except with the written agreement of the owner.
- To respect the home by not making any changes to the furnishings, placement of items, or to the property more broadly, both inside and outside.
- To return the guest rooms or holiday rentals in perfect condition at the end of the stay and to notify the owner of any damage affecting the accommodation (furnishings, equipment, cleanliness) and to assume financial responsibility for any damage in the amount of the cost of replacement, repair or cleaning. All facilities are in working order unless otherwise stated by the owner.
- Not to use the towels for make-up removal or shoe cleaning or to stain bathtubs, basins, sinks or tiled floors with make-up or shoe polish. Maison Loire reserves the right to charge the cost of replacing towels and/or linens stained by these products.
- To refrain from throwing objects or waste into the sinks, showers, or toilets that may obstruct the pipes. Repairs required due to negligence or improper usage during the rental period will be charged to the Client.
- To authorize the owner, or any third party designee, to carry out any urgent repair throughout the duration of stay. The Client will not be able to claim any reduction of reservation charges in the event of urgent repairs during the stay.
- To clean and put away the dishes and to lock all doors and windows in the holiday rentals. In case of non-compliance with these instructions, a cleaning fee may be charged.
Norms and Use of the Premises
Clients must commit to guarantee the peace, quiet, and comfort of Maison Loire, the neighborhood, and fellow Clients.
Any improper behavior or disruption to public order will result in a cancellation of the reservation and the Client will be asked to leave the establishment without any compensation or refund, and after payment of all expenses not yet paid.
Clients are not permitted to access the kitchen of the main house.
Clients returning to the premises after 10 pm must minimize noise for the peace and quiet of all. Excessive noise will not be tolerated in the guest rooms after 10 pm.
In accordance with the decree N°2006-1386 of November 15, 2006, it is forbidden to smoke in common areas. The entire establishment, including the rooms, is therefore non-smoking. Within the framework of the protection of minors, the sale of alcohol is forbidden to minors under 18 years old.
The guest rooms are not intended for doing laundry or eating meals. Clients have full access to the dining room and terrace. A laundry room is available upon request.
Children on the property are the sole responsibility of their parents or guardians.
Outside visitors (e.g. parents, children, friends of resident guests) will not be allowed on the property.
A dedicated wifi internet service is available for guest use. The Client remains responsible for all internet use. Any internet activity that is deemed illegal in France, which may be traced to Maison Loire and consequently to the Client, is prohibited. Maison Loire will cooperate fully with authorities if required to do so.
Valuables (jewelry, multimedia devices, cash and credit cards, etc.) must not be left on the property or in parked vehicles. Maison Loire does not assume responsibility for loss or damage to any personal belongings left unattended on the premises.
Eco-Tourism
The owners of Maison Loire commit to contributing to the protection of the environment by minimizing the footprint of operations of the establishment.
Simple measures can make a difference. We therefore count on your collaboration:
- by avoiding leaving lights on unnecessarily,
- by moderating water usage in showers and washbasins,
- by throwing only toilet paper in the toilets, and throwing all other waste in dedicated dustbins.
- by not using all the towels provided if not needed,
- by leaving your recyclables with the owners
Pets
For the peace and comfort of guests, we regret that we are unable to accommodate pets at Maison Loire.
This refusal can in no way be considered as a modification or a breach of contract by the owner. The owners reserve the right to refuse entry onto the premises for any Clients who violate this policy. In this case, payment of the reservation is retained by the owners.
Clients should be aware that a friendly dog lives on the property. The dog is a hypoallergenic breed (Goldendoodle), so clients with allergies should not be affected.
Insurance
The Client is responsible for any damage he or she causes. The Client must therefore verify that any insurance on his or her primary residence extends to holiday stays. The Client certifies that he or she is covered by civil liability insurance which includes coverage for the Client and other accompanying guests..
Maison Loire certifies that it holds an insurance policy for Professional Civil Liability arising from the bed and breakfast and holiday rental activity. Regarding internet use and the use of www.maisonloire.com, the protection of personal data cannot be guaranteed in an open network such as the Internet. Other Internet users may be able to disrupt the security of the network and control certain exchanges of information. The Client is solely responsible for data transmitted via the Internet and stored on web servers.
Responsibilities
Photographs on our site are not contractual. Despite best efforts to represent Maison Loire as accurately as possible through photographs, graphic representations, and text, variations are possible between the moment of the reservation and the day of check-in.
The owner cannot be held responsible for any failed, improper, or incorrect execution of reservations due to force majeure, actions by any third party, actions of the Client, unavailability of the Internet network, failed access to the Web site, external intrusion, or computer viruses.
Any reservation or payment that is irregular, inoperative, incomplete or fraudulent for a reason attributable to the Client will result in the cancellation of the reservation at the expense of the Client, without prejudice to any civil or criminal action against Maison Loire.
Resolution of Disputes

For disputes not resolved amicably, the Client may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer affairs mediator responsible for Maison Loire within one year from the date the written complaint is received by Maison Loire.

The Client shall inform ‘Maison Loire’ of this referral without delay. The Client and Maison Loire shall remain free to accept or reject the proposed solution and, if necessary, to bring the claim before the competent courts.
Applicable Law
The present conditions of sale are subject to French and European law.
